2019 Chateau Le Mayne, Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

Winery story:The winery is located on the typical terroir of Saint Emilion. The 20-hectare vineyard is located in the best terroir of Puisseguin, and has always been considered one of the best wineries in the appellation. These grape plots are located on the Nianshiguayan plateau, which is the most characteristic of Saint Emilion. A thin layer of gravel and clay is covered by a very thick layer of shiguaite, which facilitates the infiltration of rainwater and allows moisture to be captured by capillary action during periods of drought.
This optimal moisture regulation favors the ripening of the vine and grapes. In Saint-Emilion, many top class wines such as Ausone, Canon, GlosFourtet, Pavie, Troplong-Mondot or La Mondotte Chateau La Mondot all benefit from the same geological conditions.

Tasting Notes:Beautiful, clear, bright ruby colour. Aromas of raspberry and cherry. Powerful and multi-layered, the palate tastes of red fruit, caramel, rosemary and a hint of black pepper spiciness. The tannins are firm and crisp and the finish is balanced and long.

Pair with food:Pairs well with roasts, beef or lamb dishes and is served with small vegetables as a garnish. This is a delightful wine for good company moments.
