2019 Chateau Le Jard, Lalande de Pomerol

Winery story:The vines of the 5-hectare Château LeJard are located in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. Neighborhood of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The vineyard was founded by the grandfather in 1905 and is located in the city of Neac, 1 hour from Bordeaux in the southwest of France. The vineyards are planted on sticky-stone flat soils. In 1987, Michel Micheau Maillou succeeded his father as owner of the vineyard. After obtaining a Diploma in Oenology in Bordeaux, Michel traveled to Australia as a flying winemaker to improve winemaking techniques.
Today, the hotel enjoys a high reputation in Bordeaux. His wines also use Cabernet Sauvignon 20% and Cabernet Sauvignon 5% under Merlot. Every year, the harvest is put into 65% oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Notes:: Pretty garnet red. Upon opening, there are aromas of raspberries and a hint of liquorice. There is a hint of spiciness and ripe red fruit due to the high proportion of Merlot. Soft and velvety on the palate, with a nice balance of sugar and acidity. Long finish with supple tannins and a fresh body.
