WINE HISTORY AND TASTING
Winery story:Château de la Cameaux in the Médoc is a family estate with over 130 hectares in the town of Audena. It is the third generation to pass on Xeon-Budden and Christie-Budden. The vineyard is located on a south-facing slope, with plenty of sunshine for most of the day, allowing the grapes to ripen well. The nighttime humidity caused by the close proximity to the Garonne River provided everything the grapes needed for proper growth. The soil of the vineyard is sticky limestone with stone melon base. The age of the vines is about 50 years, which can make the wine produced rich, thick and round tannins. In respect of the environment, the owner has harvested by hand without using any chemical fertilizers. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats. For better extraction, the wine is macerated in tanks for 3-4 weeks. Thereafter, the wine spends 12 or 18 months in oak barrels before being bottled.
Tasting Notes:2018 was an extraordinary vintage for the Médoc. This wine has a beautiful ruby color. The palate is fruity and woody in balance, and after tasting it you will love its good structure and full-bodied tannins. In the traditional brewing method, after the grapes are harvested, they are macerated and fermented in stainless steel wine tanks for 3 to 4 weeks, and then placed in oak barrels for 12 months, which makes this wine have good aging potential.
